Welcome to the Friday Five, featuring five joyful topics every week, even when I’m too tired to write an intro. 😩
Social Media Follow: Ran of @Konel_Bread is a self-proclaimed ‘bread artist’ and their Instagram + Twitter accounts are full of artful, cute, tasteful, and complex breads. Follow for a burst of joy (and gluten) in your feed.
Poem: Sonia Sanchez’s Haiku (what is done…) doesn’t actually follow haiku format, but that’s the point. Read it over and at the end, exhale. Let it go . . . like the wind.
Short Film: My Dad sent me this video, seemingly from an Indonesian fan page for pets. It’s approximately four seconds long, is set to a strange cover of Justin Bieber’s “Baby,” and involves two fluffy dogs on a floating Croc™ in a body of water. This video leaves me with more questions than answers: Why is it the clip so short? Where do you procure a giant floating Croc™, or are the dogs so small that this is just a significantly large human Croc™? How did my Dad find this clip? No plot, no context, just vibes.
Recipe Review: My part-time hobby of reading recipe reviews just for fun pays off every once in a while. I was browsing desserts on NYTCooking, and what I thought was a review for a simple brownie recipe left me speechless. Someone needs to buy the film rights to this story:
